For the past several years, I have been meaning to cut a twig from a maple and photograph the flowers. Well, I never did get it done until today. I cut a twig from a red maple in County Farm Park, brought it home, and let it sit in water for a day. It really is amazing to see the stamens pop out and make these into very delicate beauties. I used my Fuji Finepix S7000 with a +4 diopter, AC Strobe, and black velvet backround. Shot at f8 at 1/8000 sec. I also shot a roll of Astia with my Nikon FA, using my 60mm micro nikkor and 3 PK extension tubes. Shooting at f22, I am sure I had greater depth of field than with the digi. I look forward to seeing the slides.
